School Visits
I love visiting schools, especially when students have read my book and have lots of questions. Here are some spectacularly generous things that teachers have said about my visits:
“The Ranch was so lucky to welcome Sidetracked author, Diana Harmon Asher to campus today. In both Sidetracked and her other book, Upstaged, Diana tells stories about friendship, and never giving up. Today, she talked to students about the writing and publishing process, as well as the importance of being your true self…. Students listened respectfully, asked great questions, and connected the characters to themselves! What a fantastic way to kick off literacy week, thank you so much Mrs. Asher!
—Molly Riquelmy, Fourth Grade Teacher and Battle of the Books Sponsor, Banning Lewis Ranch Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado
“Diana Harmon Asher is a pure delight! Her warmth, knowledge, and ability to connect with students always make her visits fun and engaging. Our school has hosted Ms. Asher several times, and we have never been disappointed. We love Sidetracked and are anxiously awaiting her next book!”
—Debbie Troop, 4th Grade Teacher, Hillside Elementary School, Hastings on Hudson, NY
“Diana’s day at Lipscomb Academy was a delight for our students and faculty! She conducted hands-on workshop sessions on writing dialogue that were engaging, age-appropriate, and practical for our 5th graders. Her larger presentation to the middle school student body brought to life the themes of acceptance and personal achievement in Sidetracked and provided a fascinating glimpse into the writing process. Diana is not only a skilled author and presenter, she is a genuinely kind person whose interactions with students demonstrate her respect and care for young people.”
—Audree Keele, Middle School Librarian, Lipscomb Academy, Nashville, TN
